Introducing the Scan-All Button in GroovePacker

We're excited to introduce a feature that can streamline high-volume picking: the Scan-All Button. This feature is designed to help you quickly confirm multiples of the same item in an order. The functionality is similar to the type-in count but rather than requiring the user to type in the quantity to mark scanned we are allowing the user to simply confirm the correct total has been picked by pressing a button. Let's dive into the details.

Where to Enable the Scan-All Button

You can enable this feature from Settings > System Settings > Scan and Pack. Look for a switch labeled "Scan-All Button" and toggle it on. By default, this option is turned off. When enabled it will appear on the scanning interface (GPX app only) when the conditions are met.

Conditions

Here are the conditions under which the Scan-All Button becomes available:

  1. Minimum Quantity: There must be 3 or more pieces of the same item in an order.
  2. Pass Option: The pass option must be enabled for the item.
  3. Initial Scan: The first item must be scanned with a barcode or a barcode value must be submitted.

Note: If you use the pass button rather than scanning the barcode for the first of the multi-quantity item, the Scan-All Button will not be provided. This allows the pass button to be used in the normal way when the scan-all function is not required.

Functionality and Display

Once the conditions are met and the first item is successfully scanned, the Pass Button will transform into the Scan-All Button

The quantity (Qty) displayed on this button will match the total number of that item in the order (if we are showing 1/5 have been scanned the button would reflect "Scan All 5").

Clicking or tapping the Scan-All Button will mark all remaining items of that type as scanned.

Logging

The Scan-All Button action will be logged so it will be clear that one item was scanned using the barcode and the remaining pieces were marked scanned using the Scan-All button.
