For information on importing Products and product import options please see this article.

For instructions on how to connect GroovePacker and Shopify so that Orders and Products can be imported please see this article.

You can control whether or not orders are imported from a Shopify store connection using the "Active" switch. When enabled, orders will be imported according to the Shopify store settings in GroovePacker.

The following switches appear at the top of the store settings page. Those related to order imports are described here:

  • Import inventory QOH from Shopify
When enabled the inventory quantity for each product will be imported along with the product data when the product is initially created in Shopify. This is often used in conjunction with the Advanced inventory feature which includes support pushing inventory to Shopify and Pulling inventory from Shopify.

  • Permit Shared Barcodes
When enabled the check that prevents the same barcode from being associated with multiple products is disabled. This should only be used in rare cases when it is known that existing products with the barcode are no longer active and will not be confused with the new SKUs importing with a matching barcode.

  • On-Demand Import
When enabled, if the user scans an order that has not been previously imported it will be queued for import in the background while the packer continues to scan other orders.

Scrolling down to nearly the bottom of the page you'll find a "Status" section. Here you can chose "Open" or "Archived".

If your orders will be in the Open, un-archived state, when they are imported choose the Open option. If the orders will have been processed and Archived when they are imported please choose the Archived option.

In the Fulfillment section you can chose which order statuses will be imported. Enabling only the required statuses will make order imports faster and more reliable. If orders have shipping labels created before scanning takes place and the orders have the Fulfilled status in Shopify when you import them, you'll select "Fulfilled".

If orders are imported and scanned before the shipping label is created and the orders have the unfulfilled status when they are imported you'll enable the Unfulfilled status.

The "Require Tracking Number" switch prevents orders from being imported, regardless of their status, if they do not have a tracking number saved in Shopify. This is often used when Shipping Lables are scanned and verified after the order is scanned or when the Shipping lable is scanned to cue the order rather than scanning the packing slip. In these cases the tracking number is required.

The "GP SCANNED" tag option will add a tag to each order in Shopify after scanning has been completed in GroovePacker.

Custom Shopify Products

Shopfiy allows custom products to be created without a SKU or barcode assigned. If these items are set to "Shippable" GroovePacker can import them and display them in an older for scanning.

GroovePacker will assign a SKU and barcode based on the Shopify product ID. This will be a unique value that can be printed as a barcode from GroovePacker and scanned. If scanning the item is not required the "Pass" option can be used to mark the custom item Scanned.
