If you would like to place an order "on hold" and prevent it from being packed you can do so using the Service Issue status.   Any order which has been given the Service Issue status will alert the packer if they cue the order for scanning.

The Service Issue status also has a unique feature in that all users can change an order's status to Service Issue, but only those that have Order Edit permissions can change an order's status from Service Issue back to Awaiting - to allow the scanning of the order.

This makes it possible to set up a scenario where one packer in the team can recognize a condition where the order should be placed on hold, then once it's placed on hold using the Service Issue status, it will not be possible to scan the order until a manager has given the OK. This is done by ensuring that the managers have Order Edit permissions. If the packers have order edit permission they will be able to change the order back to Awaiting so it can be packed but they will be notified that the order is a Service Issue beforehand.

There are a couple of ways to change an order's status to Service Issue:

 - The order can be selected from the order's list, in the orders section by searching for it, then clicking its row to select it, and then choosing Service Issue from the Status dropdown.

- The ISSUE barcode can be scanned while the order is displayed for packing in the Scan and Pack section. You can print the ISSUE barcode from Settings > System Settings > Scan and Pack options (it is also attached to this article)

While the order has the Service Issue status it can be found in the Service Issue list in the orders section. From this list, you can click its order number to open and edit the order items or information if needed.

The order will need to have its status changed back to Awaiting to make it possible to scan and pack the order.

This can be done in two ways:

- From the orders list, by selecting the order and then choosing Awaiting from the Status drop-down. (order edit permissions required)

- If the Order Number of a Service Issue order is scanned in the Scan and Pack section you will be prompted to enter the confirmation code of a user that has Order Edit permissions to proceed with scanning the order.
