Using a CSV to import your Shopify products during your initial setup allows our support team to identify any possible issues, like missing SKUs or barcodes, and can save a great deal of time. It is also possible to add additional information to the CSV in Excel, like bin locations, special instructions for specific products, etc. and then import your Shopify products along with any changes into GroovePacker.
After the initial setup with a CSV, the Shopify Product import option can be used to update GroovePacker with newly added items. In most cases though, newly added items will not be needed in GroovePacker until you have an order for them that needs to be scanned, so it is normally fine to simply allow GroovePacker to identify and create new products as they are found in orders, during the order import. More info on this automatic process here.
In all cases, you'll want to begin by assuring that each item and Variant you sell has been assigned a unique SKU in Shopify and each SKU and variant should have a UPC assigned in Shopify. If you need a solution for assigning SKUs and Barcodes to your Shopify items in bulk you may find the Multi-Label Barcodes app helpful.
Begin by clicking on Products on the left-hand side. Next, click on Export in the top right:
In the window that opens make the following selection to export all products:
If you'll be opening your CSV file to make further edits be sure to follow the procedure here.
When you're ready to import your Shopify products you can use the product importer. Details on using the importer can be found here.
