Using a CSV to provide your Shopify products to the GroovePacker support team during your initial setup allows the team to identify any possible issues, like missing SKUs or barcodes, and can save a great deal of time.

In most cases, the Shopify API connection will be used to import products directly. If everything works smoothly the CSV will not be necessary. If some data appears to be missing or incorrect after the API import, the CSV can be used to gain greater insight during troubleshooting.

Usually, you'll want to be able to pull new products and updated product data from Shopify to GroovePacker. For this to work smoothly you'll want to be sure the products in GroovePacker are created by Shopify. This can be done by always importing products into GroovePacker just after they are added in Shopify. This is not critical if orders are imported from Shopify, but if you're using an Order manager like ShippingEasy, ShipStation etc. there are a number of advantages to importing orders from the order manager vs importing them from Shopify.

In all cases, before sending order data to GroovePacker you'll want to first verify that each item and Variant you sell has been assigned a unique SKU in Shopify and each SKU and variant should have a UPC assigned in Shopify (unless you'll be generating the barcode from the SKU - in which case you do not need a barcode saved in Shopify).  If you need a solution for assigning SKUs and Barcodes to your Shopify items in bulk you may find the Multi-Label Barcodes app helpful.

Begin by clicking on Products on the left-hand side. Next, click on Export in the top right:

In the window that opens make the following selection to export all products:

This process will email you a link to the file. To provide the file to GroovePacker support you'll need to click the link, download the file and attach it to the email. (We will not be able to download the file from the link without being logged in to your Shopify account.)

If you need to add product data beyond what is available in Shopify (bin locations, product instructions, custom product fields etc) the recommended process is:

1 - Import the product data into GroovePacker using the Shopify API

2- Export the product date from GroovePacker to a CSV file

3 - Follow these tips when opening the file for editing

4 - Import the modified file into GroovePacker (the SKU and the updated/new columns will need to be mapped)
