Aliases are really just individual products that have more than one SKU. If an item is sold on your site with one SKU and on Amazon under a different SKU we can tell GroovePacker that both of these SKUs refer to the same product.
Note: There's no limit to the number of SKUs you can associate with a product but the same SKU can never be assigned to multiple products.
It's possible to use the Aliasing feature in GroovePacker to combine an Alias and an existing product. This is ideal when a few products begin selling in a new marketplace with a new SKU. You'll see them show up as "New" items and you can quickly alias them to their existing counterpart items.
If you're setting up your product data for the first time you'll want to add the Aliases during the initial product import as this will save you a bunch of time. No manual Aliasing individual products. It's very easy to do. All you'll need is a CSV file that has one Column for your Primary SKU (SKU 1) and additional columns for your Secondary and Tertiary SKUs (SKU 2 and SKU 3). See the Image below. It's ok if not every item has aliases, just leave those fields blank and nothing will be added. Secondary and Tertiary barcodes can be added the same way.
Note: It's possible to add two aliases per item in each import. In most cases 1 or two aliases are all that's needed. The procedure for adding additional aliases is very similar. You just leave the primary SKU (SKU 1) as it is and map SKU 2 and SKU 3 to two new columns on the next import. This can be repeated as needed.
