We refer to multiple SKUs that reference the same physical item as aliases. If the same item is sold on your website with one SKU and on Amazon under a different SKU we can tell GroovePacker that both of these SKUs refer to the same product by saving both SKUs on the same product record in GroovePacker.
Note: There's no limit to the number of SKUs you can associate with a product but the same SKU can never be assigned to multiple products.
It's possible to use the Aliasing feature in GroovePacker to combine an Alias and an existing product. This is ideal when a few products begin selling in a new marketplace with a new SKU. You'll see them show up as "New" items and you can quickly alias them to their existing counterpart items.
If you're setting up your product data for the first time you'll want to add the Aliases during the initial product import as this will save you a bunch of time since manual Aliasing of individual products will not be required. Adding aliases with a CSV after the initial import is also very easy to do. All you'll need is a CSV file that has one Column with your Primary SKU (SKU 1) and additional columns for your Secondary and Tertiary SKUs (SKU 2 and SKU 3 AKA your "alias" SKUs). Please see the image below. It's ok if not every item has aliases, just leave those fields blank and nothing will be added. Secondary and Tertiary barcodes can be added the same way.
Note: It's possible to add up to 6 aliases in the first import. If more than 6 aliases are required you can add them with additional imports. Do do so, just leave the primary SKU (SKU 1) as it is and import new SKUS using the SKU2-SKU6 columns.
